I am here to help you add a personal touch to your gift tags, cards and decorations by giving you a free Christmas themed hand lettering practice page to download and trace from the calligraphy resource library! After using this page you will be well prepared to add your own touch to any festivities this year.
What The Free Christmas Calligraphy Practice Sheets Include
To celebrate the season I created this page for you to practice your Christmas lettering and calligraphy. It has a bunch of different sayings and phrases all centred around the holidays, including things from carols and hymns. The page is an A4 page but you can simply select “scale to fit” when printing on a different size paper. All the sayings and phrases are grey so they are ready for you to trace.

What You Can Use the Free Christmas Calligraphy Practice Sheets For
These pages can be used in a massive amount of hand made Christmas goodies.
Hand lettering and calligraphy can make any occasion more beautiful and personal, and Christmas is no exception. Once you have become well-practised in these phrases, you can use them on:

- other Christmas tree ornaments
- Christmas themed decor for your walls

How To Use the Free Christmas Calligraphy Practice Sheets
Once you have downloaded your lettering practice pages print them out to get started. As an added bonus, make sure you use smooth printer paper to practice your calligraphy on so that you prolong the life of your brush pens. If you are not from Australia, just select “scale to fit” in your printing menu to use any size paper your printer accepts.
1: Trace Over The Calligraphy Worksheet
So once they are printed, grab your favourite small brush pen (see the brush pens I recommend for beginners) and trace over the Christmas sayings that are printed in grey. Print the practice worksheet out as many times as you would like so that you can trace over them until you are comfortable.
2: Practice The Christmas Lettered Phrases
Now it is time to move away from the lined worksheet and practice on plain paper. Your muscle memory should kick into gear here and help you write beautifully! Practice on any surface you would like: journals, shopping receipts, art books, walls, even chalkboards!
3: Write These Christmas Phrases on Your Christmas Goodies
Now it’s time to personalise! Grab your table settings, your baubles, your decorations and write these phrases on them. Use Christmas colours, add a personal name or two and you are good to go!
4: Decorate them!
This step is optional but feel free to add glitter, shading, flourishes, or whatever else you feel comfortable doing. Your Christmas is going to look amazing!
